Colleges bragged about their positions as educators of future medical workers, and you might have seen advertisement where they promote themselves as the major step into securing that med job of choice.

Med Job Pros:

Very direct approach to getting into the medical field.
Job security high, since fewer people seek higher education.

Med Job Cons:

Expensive.
Time-consuming.
Very focused education, so if you change your med jobs choice, you might waste both money and time.

Go to Trade School

Trade schools offer very focused education, usually taught by people currently working in the medical field. Trade School prices and schedules are usually focused to revolve around schedules of people already performing full-time jobs.

Med Job Pros:

Very hands on approach to teaching.
Reasonably priced.
Experienced Instructors.
Focused Training.

Med Job Cons:

Can be time consuming.
Can be expensive to some.
Being focused, it can be difficult to change your med job desires.

Take an entry level position.

Many large employers, like hospitals, have positions that require minimal training background, and offer on the job training. These aren't med jobs you see on tv shows, but very important positions necessary for the safe treatment of patients. Some include, patient transport, pharmacies delivery, and record handling.

Med Job Pros:

On-the-job training.
Almost zero-cost.
Experienced mentors.
Very unfocused, therefore any educational benefits can apply to almost any upward job.

Med Job Cons:

Lower-pay.
odd-hours.
Can be physically demanding.

Some Unlisted Med Tech Jobs Requirements:

One personal character that seems to be a med job requirement, yet isn't listed in any job descriptions, is patience. Not the people treated in the med jobs field, but your own tolerance for boredom, and trails of working with people who aren't happy. Sick people tend to not be in best of spirits. Therefore you typically have to separate yourself from judging people, and situations based on patients attitudes, and family activities. Sometimes unhappy patients make for unhappy co-workers, where once again you patience will be necessary to tolerate the day. If you wear a sincere smile, usually you feel better and so will those around you. I projects a sense of confidence, and others will see it as a vote for hope.

So don't just wear a uniform and a name-tag, also wear a smile.
